My husband was even unclear about the timing of some of
these moves, so this may be helpful.
Moral of the story, I am sad to be moving again. I try to
keep it a secret from my new friends how long I will be living in any one
place. Some people have a hard time investing in a new friendship if I am only
going to be in their locale for a short period of time.
Honestly, it is weird to be leaving Qingdao so soon. I am
starting to feel attached to my branch, my friends, the foreign imports stores,
the aisles at Carrefour, and my little routine. I know I will love living in
Beijing, but I will miss a lot of things about Qingdao. The people are very
nice, the city is so clean, the beaches are beautiful, my apartment is brand
spanking new and clean, my friends are kind, and the shopping is phenomenal.
The air is relatively clean (I see sunshine, clouds, and blue sky from time to
time) and the weather is comparatively mild. I used to never understand how
anyone would want to settle down in a house with a yard. I am starting to get
the vision now! Stability may have something to do with it…
Our apartment is in the building on the right (31st floor)
Paul's OSU summer program is in the building on the left (22nd floor)
Usually the humidity is so dense that we can't see out our window as you can tell here.

NEWS: Paul got a full-ride scholarship to 中国政法大学 [(Zhongguo Zhengfa Daxue) (China Politics and Law University)]. It
includes medical insurance, medical expenses, housing, tuition, and a living
stipend. YAY!
