This Thursday was the last day of our PKP program. We had finals, then my art class had a little reception for our best work from the class, then we had a formal farewell dinner. Anson fell asleep on the bus home. We didn't say good-bye to a lot of people, it was too sad. Yesterday we ate for the last time in the marquee at Pembroke, then played Foosball with some of our friends. Anson, as usual, went off and made some new friends (regular, full-time Cambridge students) and they taught him how to play pool for at least an hour. This week at our last cream tea, Carlos (the program director) told me that he wants to see Anson back at Cambridge in 16 years :)
I am hoping that eventually that will be a reality. We'll see!
We don't leave here until around the 7th. It will be so fun to actually see a few sights and do some of the things that we have missed, like walking to Granchester, attending the Proms at Royal Albert Hall, attending the LDS London Temple, eating some killer Indian food, visiting Oxford University, and taking Paul punting. Hopefully the weather will warm up and I can take Anson to Lamas Land to play in the kiddie pool! I can't think of a single day this Summer that has been warm enough to go swimming, but I know how much he would enjoy it!
Tonight we have a couple friends staying with us until they go to London to catch their flight. On Monday my sister, Lauren, is flying into town from Luxemburg. We are going to the Proms together on Tuesday, then hopefully doing some additional sight seeing around Cambridge.
It sounds like you had an absolutely lovely time in England! I'm so glad you got to go.
