Vacation week

(Photo: taken in the nave of Ely Cathedral during my visit on July 15, 2011)

As I am writing this, Paul is at his last supervision meeting. Even though our program is over, he has his last meeting with his Cambridge supervisor today. He wrote a massive research paper this last weekend and they are going over it.
Now that he is done with his big paper, we are pretty much free to spend our last week having fun. Like, a real vacation! I am working on a painting for the LDS International Church Art competition. It is held every 3 years, so I decided to enter it this year. I certainly hope my piece gets accepted, I really like the concept. Once I finish it I will post it on my art website (juliatianmann.carbonmade.com). The piece is taking me a good deal of time to actually paint, considering the fact that it is in oils and I have been waiting for it to dry between layers. Plus, England isn't exactly a dry or warm climate. But I am a day away from it actually being done, hooray.
Tonight my sister is coming in to town. She has been in Luxemburg at a music festival/competition/performance thing. She is going to be in town until September 3, so I hope we get to do all the things we haven't been able to. We are all going to the Proms tomorrow!
My brain is starting to shift over to our move to Ohio. I booked a moving truck (Paul and my brother-in-law are going to drive it across the country) and a plane ticket for Anson and I (we are flying to Michigan and staying with my sister until the men get to Ohio with our truck). Our UK adventure is drawing to a lovely, relaxing close, and our Ohio adventure is going to start in a little over a week!
