These last couple weeks have been great, in terms of Anson. I am not sure if he is just growing up, finally stopped teething for a bit, or a little bit of both. It has been wonderful, whatever the reason, to have my cooperative, cheerful, sweet child back. He is a good kid. Even people who have babysat him have noticed.
In terms of potty training, things have been going much better. I decided to take a break for a few weeks because it was turning into an awful battle. Last week my mother came into town for a day, since she was in Michigan for the birth of my sister's baby. We laid out her bed on the floor in Anson's room, which is where she always sleeps when she comes to visit. He loves to jump and lay on her bed. When she left I thought it would be fun to let Anson sleep on her bed for a night. My mother had mentioned a while ago that it might be time to let Anson notice the perks of being a big boy, maybe it would help him not feel like he needs to act like a baby. So, I decided to let Anson keep sleeping on the big bed on the floor and move Adrian to the crib (especially since we just trained Adrian to sleep through the night). The next day, Anson came to my room and told me he needed to poo on the potty. I was amazed. Since then he has been so much more enthusiastic about going to the potty. I just let it be his responsibility and it has been great. He even took his stuffed animals and had them take turns using his potty and pretending like he was washing their hands afterward. Life is good.
