A is for Antelope

Tonight Paul came home right as I put the boys to bed. As he came up the stairs, he announced that he wanted to do something fun with me, like watch a movie. Any other day I would have been thrilled out of my brains, but I had already made up my mind I was going to finally paint the antelope drawing that has been sitting on my desk, looking at me with puppy eyes, nagging "paint me!" for weeks and weeks. So I stuck to my guns, to his disappointment. We are, however, going to go on a nice long date this Saturday, so I think that makes up for it :) I just finished this painting at about 1:15 a.m. Welcome to my painting life after having Adrian.juliatianmann.etsy.com
When I started the antelope project I decided that I was going to paint 3 African animals to go with the first 3 letters of the alphabet. Kind of a fun way to learn how to paint animals while also being able to make a set of cohesive paintings for my portfolio and Etsy shop. The letter A is next in line to be painted! I better get to it before I forget what color palette I used!
As for the rest of life, things are going just fine. I go in for a gastrointestinal test on Friday to see what is wrong with my tummy. The kids are sick, but Anson is on the mend. I think I am going to take Adrian to the doctor because he keeps showering me with a deluge of milk right after I nurse him and he has a coughing bout. Paul is doing good with school. He decided that he is going to try to be on a dairy-free diet to see if that helps his general feeling of well-being. It has been hard for me to alter my cooking habits to accommodate this, but I think that it will be a good move for him. Plus, getting away from dairy is usually a less fattening and lower sugar diet, so it won't hurt any of the rest of us to be on it, especially since I still buy cheese and milk for the Anson.
