The newest development for me is that I decided to do a Summer Intensive Language Program at Ocean University in Qingdao during the same time Paul does his summer training at the OSU Qingdao Center. It will be good, and I worked out a system where I will be able to be tutored at home by a tutor or one of the program professors. This will allow me to help the kids transition to living in China (and honestly myself as well) and still be their mother the majority of the time.
Other than that we have just been going crazy applying for visas, passports, scholarships, etc. I packed our very first box today. I am sick of all the clutter, so I packed away some of the dishes we don't need or use right now. It was weird to tape up a box, knowing that I probably won't use its contents for at least a year. I am also packing up all our winter clothes because the weather has been so warm lately.
On a different note, Paul and I had a great date last night. COSI (the Columbus Center of Science and Industry), where we have a membership, is open until 9 on the last Friday of the month. We belong to a babysitting group, so this week our friends watched our kids while we went to COSI and explored the exhibits. I take Anson at least every couple weeks, but usually we only go to the Little KidSpace Exhibit (and sometimes the Ocean Exhibit) and then go home. Last night, it was nice to go see some of the other exhibits with an adult. We had loads of fun...until a tornado warning was issued and we were confined to the exhibits on the 1st floor. That was lame and a little worrisome. It was already packed as it was, so when everyone had to stay inside the first floor exhibits it was downright overcrowded. But we still had a great time.
That's it for now. I am including a video of Anson from a couple years ago when we were living in Tianjin. Watching it made me a little more excited about moving back to China. It was a memorable part of our lives and we did have some pretty happy times.
